Dell Inspiron E1405

One of the most commonly encountered problems when using a laptop computer is its battery life. Being on the road, trying to finish your work, then suddenly your laptop runs out of battery — that’s mightily annoying.
Dell Inspiron E1405Dell tries to avoid this problem by coming out with a laptop that lasts, Dell Inspiron E1405. This laptop tends to have 8 hours of battery life. It gives you a lot of time to finish everything. And maybe before your battery runs out of life, you should already be at home or at office where you can charge your battery anew.

The Dell Inspiron E1405’s 14.1-inch wide-screen display can be configured with one of two native resolutions: WXGA (1,280×800) or the finer WXGA+ (1,440×900). This is one of the lightest models in Dell’s basic home laptops, making it very portable and suited for travel.

But for those looking at performance, you should be considering a better model.

Do I Need a Laptop? Or Stick with a Desktop?

People planning to buy a new computer, either a desktop or a laptop always have the dilemma on choosing ‘what to buy’. Both desktops and laptops have advantages over the other. So the question is, ‘What suits you best?’

For me, you should first know what you need a computer for. If you plan to upgrade in the near future, then a desktop would be a better choice. If you don’t need to travel much, stick to a desktop computer. But if you need your files anywhere you go, then a laptop is the choice.

I do have a computer at home and at work, so I guess I only need a Flash drive to have my files with me always. But I’m planning to buy a laptop since I think I need to work anywhere I go. Only you could decide on what to buy. Take note of your primary reason for buying one. If you could buy both, better.

Where to Buy?

When buying a notebook or laptop computers, most of us would just be looking at the specifications and features of the laptop. For those with limited budgets, they would look at what their money could get them. With this, they are limited to buy the best laptops available in the market.

Be wise. Don’t make your budget limit you from buying the best laptop. It’s not that easy to upgrade a laptop computer. So be resourceful. Check out the prices of laptops from the countries where they are originally manufactured. When I tried to check out the prices in other countries other than where I’m from, most prices are doubled. Laptops worth 700$ are sold at 1,000$ to 1,400$ in other places. Imagine how much you could save.

Well, it’s better if you do have a relative or friend from those places to save you from shipping cost.

Boston-Power’s Next Generation Battery

Boston-Power has unveiled its new Sonata lithium-ion batteries for notebook computers. Problems regarding battery packs have been well-known for years by laptop users. Most users find that they would need to buy at least three batteries for the first years of their notebook computer.

“Sonata features enhancements in both performance and safety; its proprietary safety features include slower chemical kinetics, novel current interrupt devices, new thermal fuses, unique pressure relief vents and safer pack configuration.”

These batteries are said to have the industry’s fastest recharge time – 30 minutes to recharge to 80 percent capacity. This would be a great advantage for users who don’t have the time. Another great thing is that these batteries have been designed to match the lifetime of a notebook computer, which theoretically means you don’t need to buy new batteries. And to top it all off, these batteries can be used with existing notebook computers.
