Dell Inspiron E1405

One of the most commonly encountered problems when using a laptop computer is its battery life. Being on the road, trying to finish your work, then suddenly your laptop runs out of battery — that’s mightily annoying.
Dell Inspiron E1405Dell tries to avoid this problem by coming out with a laptop that lasts, Dell Inspiron E1405. This laptop tends to have 8 hours of battery life. It gives you a lot of time to finish everything. And maybe before your battery runs out of life, you should already be at home or at office where you can charge your battery anew.

The Dell Inspiron E1405’s 14.1-inch wide-screen display can be configured with one of two native resolutions: WXGA (1,280×800) or the finer WXGA+ (1,440×900). This is one of the lightest models in Dell’s basic home laptops, making it very portable and suited for travel.

But for those looking at performance, you should be considering a better model.

Dell XPS M1710 Review

Laptop Magazine has taken another look at the XPS M1710 which has been updated.

Earlier this year we reviewed Dell’s XPS M1710 and liked what we saw. In terms of design, not much has changed, but this time around Dell gave this 8.8-pound gaming rig a faster, more powerful processor and is now offering it with an 802.11n wireless network adapter and a wireless-N router bundle that is sure to make a big splash at your next LAN party. Unfortunately, only those with the deepest pockets will be able to afford this $3,783 powerhouse.

In the end they give the new XPS M1710 a strong four and a half out of five and an Editor’s Choice badge. I think its a great machine for those that have deep pockets, but the battery life is still not enough for me to want one. Check out more information at Digital Advisor.

Dell Latitude D820 Review

Dell Latitude D820Laptop Magazine has a review up on the Dell Latitude D820, a business machine that tries not to sacrifice anything.

Corporate buyers looking for a high-end machine for the executive ranks will appreciate the Dell Latitude D820. It offers all the bells and whistles that a business user could need, including a fast Core 2 Duo T7400 processor and embedded wireless broadband connectivity.

The silver-gray chassis with black accents is conservatively styled, given the trend in laptop design these days, but is appropriate for the boardroom. At 6.6 pounds and more than 14 inches wide, the D820 isn’t for the road warrior who needs to drag a machine through airports. Rather, it’s a good fit for the desk jockey who needs to tote the machine down the hall for an occasional meeting.

You have to sacrifice a fair bit of your wallet to get one of these machines, but it won’t leave you wanting more. Laptop Magazine gives it a four out of five and an Editor’s Choice badge.

If you still think you need more, you will probably have to check out Dell’s XPS line, like the Dell M1710.
