HP Compaq nx6125
HP is looking to target budget-minded business users with its new notebook, the Compaq nx6125.
This new machine is powered by an AMD’s Turion 64 processor and only runs around $1,249 USD.
This thin-and-light system packs in a wealth of features, including a fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ATI graphics. Despite the inclusion of a rather large 15-inch screen, the nx6125 weighs a not too heavy six pounds. HP covers connectivity with the inclusion of three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire, and S-Video, plus a 5-in-1 memory card reader on the front panel.
The nx6125 features a healthy 512MB of 333-MHz DDR memory and a reasonably fast 5,400-rpm hard drive, the ATI Mobility Radeon x300’s use of 128MB. It is nice that it has the x300, but It would do much better with a slightly better video card as the 128MB of main system memory for graphics is not ideal.
With wireless turned off, the nx6125’s battery lasted 3 hours and 48 minutes, and with it on, it ran for around 3 hours flat which is pretty comparable to most laptops currently on the market that have a Centrino processor.
A standard three-year parts and labor warranty with 24/7 toll-free tech support should ease the minds of HP’s small and medium sized business customers and the price will make it easier for them to afford, gaining HP a few more sales.
